Parts Mechanic

We are seeking a Parts Manager to join our dynamic team at Champion FleetCare. This role is essential 

for overseeing the procurement and management of automotive parts, ensuring that our customers fleet 

operations run smoothly and efficiently. The Parts Manager responsibility involves managing inventory, 

ordering parts, ensuring efficient operations, and potentially managing a team, all while focusing on 

customer satisfaction and profitability.  This position plays a critical role in supporting our mission to 

deliver exceptional service. 


Key Responsibilities:


Inventory Management:


  • Maintaining accurate stock levels of parts. 
  • Ensuring parts are readily available for customers and service technicians. 
  • Monitoring inventory turnover and implementing strategies to optimize stock levels. 
  • Performing regular inventory audits and cycle counts. 
  • Implementing and maintaining inventory control systems.


Ordering and Procurement: 


  • Be able to work “Out of the box” on hard to find or out of stock parts. 
  • Identifying parts needs and placing orders with suppliers. 
  • Negotiating with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of parts to meet customer and service needs.
  • Maintain communication with Service Writer and Mechanics with special orders and shipping.


Customer Service: 


  • Providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. 
  • Assisting mechanics with finding the correct parts and answering their questions. 
  • Resolving mechanic issues related to parts orders and deliveries. 


Team Management (if applicable):


  • Supervising and training parts department staff. 
  • Motivating and developing team members to achieve goals. 
  • Delegating tasks and providing guidance to staff.


Sales and Profitability: 


  • Increasing parts margin by finding OEM quality parts. 
  • Managing costs to ensure profitability of the parts department. 
  • Analyzing sales data and identifying opportunities for growth. 


Other Duties: 


  • Maintaining accurate records of inventory and transactions. 
  • Knowledge of DOT, safety and OSHA regulations and procedures. 
  • Participating in meetings and training programs. 
  • Keeping your general office area clean 


Skills and Qualifications: 


  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of automotive parts and equipment. 
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and systems. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required Work Experience: 


  • 3 years of work experience with automotive parts 
  • Experience with medium and heavy duty trucks preferred, but all parts experience considered


Skills: 


  • Applicants must have a valid driver's license 
  • Reliable transportation to and from work 
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds 
  • Basic computer skills 
  • Aptitude for on-the-job training in areas such as the Windows computer system, Industry software, electronic ordering and other job skills 

 

Pay $21-$26 per hour
