Position Summary 

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, complex repairs, 

and advanced diagnostic work on Class 1 through Class 8 trucks. This position requires strong mechanical 

ability, electrical troubleshooting expertise, and in-depth knowledge of diesel emissions systems. 

The ideal candidate can independently diagnose drivability issues, electrical faults, and aftertreatment 

system failures while maintaining high productivity and quality standards. 


Key Responsibilities 

Preventive Maintenance 

  • Perform DOT inspections and complete preventive maintenance services 
  • Conduct oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and fluid services 
  • Inspect and service:
  • Brake System(air & hydraulic)
  • Steering and Suspenssion Systems
  • Cooling Systems
  • Fuel Systems
  • Driveline Components
  • Identify potential mechanical or emissions issues before failure
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records 


Diagnostics & Electrical Troubleshooting 


  • Diagnose engine performance and drivability concerns 
  • Troubleshoot:
  • Starting and Charging Systems
  • ECM/PCM Faults
  • CAN bus communication issues
  • Sensor and Actuator Failures
  • Wiring shorts, opens, and voltage drop issues
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams and OEM schematics
  • Use scan tools and OEM diagnostic software
  • Perform calibrations, parameter resets, and software updates when required
  • Conduct root-cause failure analysis 

 

Emissions & Aftertreatment Systems 


  • Diagnose and repair:
  • DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) systems
  • DEF systems
  • SCR systems
  • EGR systems
  • Perform forced regens and troubleshoot failed regenerations
  • Identify and repair NOx sensor, DEF dosing, and temperature sensor faults
  • Address emission-related derates and shutdown conditions
  • Ensure compliance with EPA standards and OEM specifications 

 

Mechanical Repairs 


  • Engine repairs (minor and major component replacement)
  • Transmission and clutch repair (manual & automated)
  • Driveline and differential repairs
  • Brake system repair and replacement
  • Suspension and steering system repair 
  • Cooling system and HVAC repairs
  • Fuel injection and turbocharger system repairs
  • Perform repairs according to OEM standards 


Fleet & Customer Support 


  • Accurately document findings and completed repairs
  • Communicate repair needs and recommendations clearly
  • Maintain productivity and efficiency standards
  • Follow all shop safety and compliance procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area 

 

Qualifications


Required 

  • 7+ years diesel repair experience (Class 3–8 preferred) 
  • Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting experience 
  • Knowledge of diesel emissions systems 
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and service manuals 
  • Experience using scan tools and laptop diagnostics 
  • Own professional tools 
  • Valid driver’s license 


Preferred 


  • ASE Certifications (T Series) 
  • OEM certifications (Cummins, Detroit, Paccar, etc.) 
  • CDL (a plus) 
  • Fleet maintenance experience
